Mallorca's Official Construction Price Book Goes Multilingual

Every year since 1982, Mallorca's chartered surveyors' body has published the island's reference construction price guide. The 2026 edition, the 48th, is the first to ship in four languages, not just Spanish.

What it actually is

The Libro de Precios de la Construcción is published by COAATMCA, the Colegio Oficial de Aparejadores y Arquitectos Técnicos de Mallorca (the professional body for chartered surveyors and building technicians on the island). It's a standing reference for current construction prices (materials, labour, and the categories that go into pricing a build or renovation on Mallorca), updated and re-released annually, and described by COAATMCA as a tool the industry has come to rely on.

What's new this year

The digital edition now offers Spanish, Catalan, English and German, with every entry carrying its detailed description in Spanish alongside the translation. That's a meaningful change for an island where a large share of buyers, renovators and second-home owners aren't native Spanish speakers, but have historically had to either read the guide in Spanish or go without it. The print edition, notably, is still Spanish-only, and the multilingual option is digital-only for now, and a digital copy comes free with every print purchase.

The digital edition also adds a carbon-footprint calculation feature for materials, which print obviously can't offer.

Why this matters if you're pricing anything here

If you're weighing a renovation, comparing a quoted build cost against something independent, or trying to sanity-check what a licensed extension should reasonably cost before you commit, an official, professionally-maintained price reference is a genuinely useful check, far more so than a rough online estimate. Having it in English or German removes a real barrier that's kept plenty of non-Spanish-speaking owners from using it at all.

It's worth being precise about what this is and isn't: it's a construction cost reference, not a property valuation tool, and not something we distribute or resell. Copies are available directly from COAATMCA.
